You’re probably well aware of the practical benefits of our branded boxes. Many of our customers would struggle to deliver a premium experience to their own buyers without this beautiful casing that is designed to not only protect their goods, but also showcase their unique brand identity.
However, the market is becoming more crowded by the day, and brands are constantly asking us how they can use their printed box design to stand out from their competitors’ offerings.
Here are four smart ways to get your custom printed gift boxes and product boxes noticed.
Go for more unusual configurations
As we mentioned in a recent blog, our printed boxes can be created in all kinds of creative shapes to add intrigue to your design.
Here’s how our configurations work: as long as we can maintain these boxes’ three-point closing system – where the top flap folds over the main box and tucks into itself, with two additional side wings – there’s plenty of flexibility in the way they can be produced. So, if you’re looking for something a little snazzier than a typical square or rectangle format, rest assured we can help you come up with an option that turns heads (and is still practical for the product and the user, of course).
Don’t be afraid of cut-outs
Particularly popular on food boxes – chocolate box sleeves and candy boxes are great examples – cut out windows on your printed boxes can offer a brief glimpse of what’s inside, without unbalancing or overwhelming the aesthetic. They might not be suited to especially thick or textured board, but they can be a good option for thinner boxes. We’ve created similar products for clothing and accessories brands in the past.
Invest in extra special features for a sophisticated aesthetic…
Why not add a bit of spot UV to your logo? Or a layer of laminate for a glossy finish? Or upgrade to textured board for a higher end feel? There are lots of ways you can take your custom printed boxes to the next level – all under the watchful eye of our in-house artwork specialists, who will always be on hand to make sure your design looks professional and you are taking advantage of finishing techniques that align with your branding (and your budget).
…Or, use the lo-fi, eco-friendly look to your advantage Sometimes, less is more – and this can really be the case with un-fussy printed boxes that wholly embrace a barer and more utilitarian design. Think the clean lines and understated look of our Kraft mailing boxes, but for gift boxes and product casing, instead! It might be a bold move, but if your brand is big on sustainability and you want to showcase a responsible approach to your packaging, opting for eco friendlier materials in place of a more polished image could be a gamechanger – and it will certainly stick in your customers’ minds!
